Welcome

Avoca Hockey Club is dedicated to top quality hockey and an active social life. With our new site we hope to build a platform for our members to communicate with each other and use the technology for organising the running of the club, match times selections etc will be all online. In the long term we hope to expand the workings of the site for members to create a database for work etc and eventually we hope to have our games broadcast live. The final phase will be a site that generates income for the club.

I would like to thank everyone for their pioneering work getting the site up and running and everyone else who has now brought the site a step further. If you have thoughts or ideas for the site let us know.

Yours sincerely

Ian Wilkie
Avoca Hockey Club President

Avoca Hockey Club Announce New Mens Coach

Avoca have appointed former player and Ex Irish International, Mark Cullen as their new Mens First Team Coach.

Mark has played hockey at the highest level throughout his career, representing Leinster as well attaining 46 Caps for Ireland.
Since retiring from playing Senior hockey, Mark has been heavily involved in youth coaching both within the club and in Newpark School.

The club are delighted to appoint Mark as Coach as we look to further develop the mens 1st team with ambitions of promotion to Division 1, as well as continued development of the clubs youth system.

Avoca Ladies 2nds Appoint New Coach

It's with delight that I can now confirm we have appointed a new Ladies Seconds coach for this incoming season....

George Roberts will begin coaching with us tomorrow night. I hope you will all make him feel very welcome- this is great news for the ladies section!  George will be working to develop the second’s team and hopefully get them fast tracked to a higher division next year. He'll work closely with Peter for the first few weeks, and will then focus solely on the second’s team.

Good luck George!
