ABOUT AVOCA

Avoca have a large, active and fun junior section with boys and girls teams ranging from Under 8 to Under 16.  All sections are played with mixed abilities and Avoca promotes inclusion and enjoyment in all sessions. We boast a strong coaching and co-ordinated team and compete annually in various fun tournaments as well as some teams competing in Leinster League and Cup competitions.  

HOOKED FOR LIFE

In line with Avoca's development plan and under the IHA recommendations, AHC is committed to adhering to the guidelines and structure of the IHA's "HookedforLife" model. This is an essential component for anyone involved in hockey including players, coaches, parents and administrators. The goal of the Hooked for Life model is to recruit, capture, develop and retain players.  More information can be found here

PLEASE NOTE: All girls sections are full.  The boys section is fully open for new and returning members.

TRAINING TIMES 2012/13

From 16th September

Training in Newpark:

All Boys = 9.30am to 11.00am
Girls Under 8 & Under 10 = 11.00am to 12.30pm
Girls Under 12 = 12.30pm to 2.00pm

Training in Loreto Foxrock:

Girls 1st years = 9.30am to 11.00am
Girls Minors (2nd years) = 11.00am to 12.30pm
Girls Under 16 = 12.30pm to 2.00pm

Please note, age groups are generally classified as follows: 

U8s - 1st and 2nd class
U10s - 3rd and 4th class
U12s - 5th and 6th class
U14s - 1st and 2nd years
U16s - 3rd and 4th years

MEMBERSHIP & REGISTRATION

Junior Membership/School Student Membership €160 (2nd child €150, 3rd child €110). Discounts for Juniors can be applied across Boys and Girls sections.

Please note: There is an additional charge of €7 per player which is for Personal Accident Insurance. Full details of the policy and what is covered in it will be available here shortly.

Please note that registering online is only an application to membership.  Applicants that were not Avoca members last season, or that do not have a sibling in the Club are not guaranteed membership.  Membership places are by invitation only for the Girls section.  If you are unsure as to whether your daughter has a space in the Club, please contact Hilary Murray (Girls Chair) on 087 2446182.  Membership is open for Boys of all ages. 

Additionally, it is important to also note that if players who were members last year have not registered and paid by or on 16th September they may forfeit their membership as the Club will offer the vacant place(s) to someone from waiting list.

Please note upon completion of registration and full payment, you must return the signed registration form to your Club Representative. This form confirms your agreement to adhere to Avoca Hockey Club's Membership Terms & Conditions which can be found here

Subscriptions may be paid on line or given to your relevant Junior Coordinator or representative at training or matches and may be paid by cheque or in cash. In all instances where you give a payment to a club representative, please place money/cheque in an envelope and ensure that your name, the amount enclosed, your telephone number and child’s name are on are clearly noted on the front.
