Ladies Section
Welcome to the ladies section.
This is where you will find all the news and updates on our four ladies squads throughout the season. I am Emma Meir the Ladies Club Captain for the season. I have been an active member of the club since 1990, and have thoroughly enjoyed my 20 years at Avoca. I am delighted to have this opportunity to be Ladies Club Captain and thrilled to have the support of Ruth McDonagh as Vice Ladies Club Captain.
Welcome Back Avoca Ladies 1, 2, 3 & 4’s!
New and experienced players are always welcome and so too are goal keepers. Please contact me if you’d like to join us or feel free to come down and check us out at our training sessions!
We are delighted to welcome back George Roberts, our 2nd team coach and to welcome Ronan Hickey, our new 1st team coach to Avoca. The 3rd and 4th teams are fortunate to have Declan Ryan, Kate Lawless and myself returning as the team coaches for the season. With both teams gaining promotion last season we have no doubt they can do it again.
The ultimate aim this season is to integrate our younger up and coming players throughout the teams and to gain promotion for all four teams, playing in division 4, 9, 12 & 13 this season.
Training Times
Training for all squads is on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in Newpark, Newtownpark Avenue, Blackrock.
We have had over 50 girls out training already in the first week, which is a great turnout.
Team selection will be based on attendance at training, skills, attitude and fitness.

Social
There’s nothing we enjoy more than a few drinks, in the cosy surroundings of the Wishing Well of a Saturday following our games. This year will be no different! Our social calendar will be filled with funky, fun –filled fundraisers and themed evenings both in the Wishing Well and various other lucky venues!
Our first social is our annual Summer BBQ on Friday 27th August from 8.00 pm at the Wishing Well after the last mixed Summer hockey session at Newpark – last two left....20th and 27th August from 7 – 9 pm.

Equipment
For those of you interested in purchasing new kit, please make contact with Kate Cullen or Ruth McDonagh at the training sessions, as there is plenty of gear on sale at hugely discounted prices.
