The new season 2009/2010 has begun and we’ve started on a very positive note, hitting the ground running with new coaches and an influx of new players. We’ve re-structured things a little this year to ensure everyone gets a great, action-packed filled season, with dedicated coaching and maximised training times.
We welcome back Peter Murphy, our 1sts team coach who has been with us for many years now! Peter has worked wonders with our Ladies section to date. We remain focussed and driven to achieve our goal of promotion to Division 2 for season 2010/2011.
We’d like to introduce and welcome George Roberts, our new Second’s Team Coach. George will be working with the second’s team to ensure they ace their league! Good luck George, we’re delighted to have you on board!
Even further good news- our 3rds squad will now have a dedicated coaching team to organise, shape and develop the players; and in particular some of our young, emerging Avoca fillies. Declan Ryan, Emma Meir and Kate Rushe have very kindly agreed to give up their free time to assist with the coaching this year. I’ve no doubt, with a coaching team this experienced; we can expect nothing but great results from our 3rds this year!

Training Times
Training has begun for all squads on Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings in Newpark, Newtownpark Ave. Team selections begins from day one of training so it’s in your interest to make as many training sessions and pre-season games as you can from the start.

Social
There’s nothing we enjoy more than a few drinks, in the cosy surroundings of the Wishing Well of a Saturday following a tough game. This year will be no different! Our social calendar will be filled with funky, fun –filled fundraisers and themed evenings both in the Wishing Well and various other lucky venues! 
I’ll be encouraging all of the ladies to meet up after Saturday games in the Well for exchanged tales of injuries, annoyances; and undoubtedly, stories of triumph & victory!!

Equipment
For those of you interested in buying new sticks, Markus Suttle will take some to the pre-season training sessions.  Just holler if you'd like to have a look. This applies for any equipment that you need.. Markus is your man! Before you purchase anything, it's a good idea to talk to Markus as he will get you good deals on sticks, astros, gloves etc.
