27th August 2011 | Annual Pre-Season BBQ | Avoca's Annual Start of Season BBQ is on in the Wishing Well from 6.30pm.€10 per person for food which you pay for on the night.The evening is then followed by a UV Paint and Foam Party in Suite 54Free entry before 12am for all Avoca members!!!***make sure you wear clothes that you don't mind getting wet!!***

24th September | Season Kick-Off Drinks | 5 ladies home games on in Newpark throughout the day with a number of mens away matches too. Great chance to kick off the season in style with drinks in The Wishing Well from about 7.30 onwards.Looking into getting copmps for Suite 54 for after The Well for those who fancy a dance or a spin around the pole! |
5th October | Quiz Night Fundraiser | The annual trivia fest is back..... so grab your brain-box family and your know-it-all friends and come along and support Avoca Hockey Club.Kick off is 8pm sharp in The Wishing Well.....Teams of 6 at €60 per table (that's a give-away at €10 per person).There will also be a fabulous raffle on the night...and maybe even some spot prizes!!Friends and Family all welcome, the more the merrier!! |
5th November | Boozy Bowling | Boozy Bowling is back again this year!!
Its on the 5th November at 8pm in Leisureplex Stillorgan,
€20 per person which includes 2 hours of bowling, finger food and a corkage fee. Just bring what ever drink you fancy and booze while you bowl!
Friends and family are all welcome!

19th November | Breast Cancer Awareness Fundraiser | Avoca Ladies will be hosting a Fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness in association with the Irish Cancer Society on the 19th November in the Wishing Well.There will be free tea, coffee and cakes in the Well from 1pm till 4pm.Its donation only and everyone's welcome!! |
10th December | Annual Christmas Party | Drinks in The Wishing Well from 7.30pm with dancing in Suite 54 afterwards. There will be a Christmas jumper competition, with a prize for the best jumper!! |
28th January 2012 | Boozy Bowling Round Two! | Bowling in Bray followed by dancing in The Koo or Suite 54. |
25th February | Race Night | This years Race Nite which will be held in the Wishing Well on Saturday ( yes Saturday ) the 25th February 2012. Last year we had a tremendous response and we raised just under € 5000 and we hope that we can replicate that this year. The format is the same as last year in that Jockeys and Horses will cost € 10 each. We expect all members to sell at least € 60 (sixty euros) worth of horses or jockeys. We are also offering everyone the opportunity to either sponsor a race, or place an advert in the race card. This is another superb opportunity to promote your business within the club at a very reasonable cost. The costs are as follow : Sponsor a Race €75.00, Full Page Advert €50.00, Half Page Advert €30.00, Quarter Page €20.00. This is an essential element of the club finances and we rely on this income to meet all our obligations. |
11th March | Support Ireland in the Olympic Qualifiers | Avoca are going to UCD to cheer on the Irish Mens squad in their bid to qualify for this years Olympics. Conatct Ruth McDonagh for more info if you would like to book tickets. School Kids €5, College Students €10 & Adults €15 |
23rd March | Southside Physio Demo Evening | Southside Physiotherapy Clinic are offering a fantastic interactive evening for all Avoca members. The evening will be theoretical and practical offering advise on stretching, injury prevention and core stability.- Stretching- the different types of stretching- dynamic V static and stretches for the major muscle groups of the body - Injury Prevention- " How short tight calf muscles can effect problems from the lower back down to the ankle " - tight calves lead to over prontation (flat feet, shin splints/anterior knee pain etc. - Core stability and injury prevention - Practical "how to" activate your transverses (deep tummy) muscle - Talk about the delayed activation of Tranverse Abdominis in people with low back pain There will also be a Q&A session at the end. This evening will be held from 8pm to 9pm and is free of charge. If you would like to attend, please contact Ruth to confirm your place. Limited spaces available. |
29th March | Annual Club Draw | Tickets now on sale for the Club Draw,. only €5 each with great cash prizes to be won on the night. The draw will take place in the Wishing Well at circa 8pm. Prizes for the highest ticket sellers in the Junior & Senior sections of the club. |
